Rodent Lung Mycobiome
Relationship between frequency and abundance for fungi from the mammalian lung mycobiome
Many members within the fungal order Onygenales were detected in mammal lungs which contain true human pathogens like species of Coccidioides causing Valley fever.
Obligate lung commensals, Pneumocystis, were abundant and diverse. Host specificity of species to animal hosts is evident for multiple genera of Heteromyidae especially Dipodomys.
