Rodent Lung Mycobiome

Relationship between frequency and abundance for fungi from the mammalian lung mycobiome

Pathogens and commensals within the fungal order Onygenales were detected in mammal lungs including Coccidioides causing Valley fever.

Obligate lung commensals, species of Pneumocystis, were abundant and diverse. Host specificity is evident for multiple genera of Heteromyidae especially Dipodomys.
